Old Woman Springs Road

Located on Route 242 in Yucca Valley between Joshua Tree and Mojave lays Old Woman Springs Road featuring relics of water scarcity and decay. This painting was completed the day that my Grandmother passed away. I was in such grief, all I could think of doing was painting. The title of the painting "Old Woman Springs Road" which is the name of the location, also known as Route 242, doubled in its meaning for me. As a result I changed the numbers featured on the boat to my Grandmother's death date, which is also the date this piece was completed.
