DNA (ode alla vita)

The opera is an ode to life, the miracle of recombining of the genes It represents the egg cell in the act of conception. The DNA is depicted by the double spiral that encircles the central image in relief where is painted a pentagram on which is inscribed the music or the genetic code of every living being. The oil lamp among three fires symbolizes the metaphysical force of life and the miracle of the moment.

Materials and technique:
The easel is poplar wood. The frame is leather in cured vegetable blue in colour and the studs are zinc and brass. The preparation is in chalk and the pictorial layer constitutes egg fat tempera. The gilding is done using 25 carat gold foil.
