The subtraction of material from the previous color stratifications makes the pervading light reveal new images and polychromies. As a consequence, is the chisel and the mill and not the paint itself which constructs the emerging forms. The subsequent empty spaces give place to a physical depth, a kind of third dimension of painting that naturally merges into the three-dimensionality of the shape of the work.
