Living outside India and visiting it regularly makes me see the country more clearly and with greater freshness.
The metropolises fascinate me, in particular the city of Mumbai, that for me is the essence of entire country. We see the relationship of globalization with the village india.

Taj Palace Hotel, Mumbai. September 2008. I took photographs from inside the Taj hotel looking out on the road, and from across the road looking at Taj. I repeated this at the Oberoi hotel, Nariman point, Mumbai. Quite effortlessly, I came up with shots displaying the parallel worlds that exist on two sides of the road, that show the sharp contrasting lives of people, so detached from one another. I wondered, when would these two sides of the road meet?
A month later two sides of the road met in Mumbai’s worst terror attacks.

vibrant hues and grey shades blended beautifully.. 2 entirely different words coexisting together yet unaware of each other... somewhat livin in parallel .. look at the lil kid's face.. the picture says it all.

The work is a very good example of the disparity in India. It takes a keen eye to spot a scene like this, and great skill to execute it so beautifully.
