Holy Family
Site-specific installation, two photographic prints on Mesh, 200x170 cm each, rubber and steel cables and clamps, environment
Installation of two photographic prints in two spaces: inside the greenhouse the photograph hangs from the ceiling; outside the photograph is placed on the trunk of a big tree in the garden. These two elements are part of a triptych, concluding with a third element on show in the garden of the Primo Conti Museum in Fiesole, part of the project Playing.
This traditionally installed project introduces the topic of the family, very dear to the artist. In the very places where the images are set, it portrays three sequences of images of her sister with her son, and her brother-in-law with her daughter. One photograph shows mother and son in the interior of the greenhouse, the other photograph is, and portrays them, near the big Zelkova, a majestic tree outside in the garden. Father and daughter
are instead portrayed in the garden of the Primo Conti Museum in Fiesole. In the photographs, the mother wears a white dress created from natural fibers which the artist will also wear during the action of "Cadeau" on the opening day of the exhibition.
In this project, the connections and ties of the artist’s sentimental sphere become material and content of her artistic research. By the inclusion of classical references Holy Family traces back the artist’s academic training which here evolves including the relational practice, central in this and other contemporary and experimental works of her
