Finis Innocentiae

Finis Innocentiae

This is a painting on early or unwanted pregnancy of juveniles. The characters are wearing the costumes of a bird and a bee. The story of the birds and the bees is commonly used to educate children on reproduction and sex.

In this situation, the bird already has an egg symbolizing pregnancy or birth. The bee is busy looking for food to provide for his family.

A sand castle they built is slowly being washed away by the tide at the background. A kite is hung up a tree. These two items symbolize their dreams and aspirations that are slowly fading away or kept on hold because of the more important matters they need to attend to.

The bottle in the water is a symbol of the message that they have learned. The light in the bottle refers to people who will guide them and perhaps help them in their situation.
