In her new series Plaything Hannah Hardy explores the tentative nature between fantasy and reality. Portraying domestic animals she explores notions of the submissive and the wild, the sensitive and the dynamic which references feminine role play. The animals infer the idea of a ‘sixth sense’ and play a code as the ‘witches’ familiars’. This duality between the bold and the fragile, feeds into her experimental use of new and natural materials.
The Plaything series is accompanied by the Me and my Big Plaything narrative stills, which will be available as limited edition prints.
Hannah will be showcasing her Plaything series in Gaudi’s Casa Batlló, Barcelona on the 27th April
