La Sicilia nel mediterraneo contemporaneo
The idea of revisiting by painting the
Mediterranean map in a
contemporary key derives from the desire to highlight
the capabilities in cultural change of our seacosts.
Through lines, shapes and warm colours are happing
represented those signs that incite thought to the joint
of the two Poles; each pole embodies the culture of the
respective land.
The free interpretation lets you imagine the infinite
chances of exchange that sea offers and the
innumerable relationship that from this can come.
If we compared the Poles shapes to the buttonhole
and the button of a shirt, it would happen that, as the
simple act of the function goes from the buttonhole to
the button, in the same way each part of the Italian
peninsula would tend to fit with the surrounding isles
and lands.
But if we tried to imagine isles as rafts, it would be
enough to push up the anchor, blowing and waiting for
their junction to new lands and cultures.
