Art arrest
The idea is to focus my video camera on a real metropolitan target, to shoot what really happens in that place, with no prearranged intervention by man, nor awareness by the shooted people.
A real "candid camera", in which everything can happen.
The city is the protagonist, and an angle becomes involuntary stage of many stories.
This angle does not invade the whole picture, but only a small portion, to show that, while a photograph freezes a moment, the video has the power to narrate many moments, many stories.
From the technical point of view, to obtain that result, I photographed and filmed on videocamera from the same point of view, the neon signs of various cities, to then create works that contrast the static nature of the photograph with the dynamism of the video.
The peculiarity of this video, filmed in Las Vegas, is that, because at a certain point just in front of my videocamera a motorcycle cop stopped a female motorist, the subject of the scene is changed: it has moved from the illuminated signs to the intervention of the policeman, who became involuntary protagonist of the work, until the cop realized to be filmed and I was told to turn off the camera, otherwise my arrest.
This "error", or lapsus, could damage the work but, on the contrary, it is the unaware intervention that enriches my research.
