Lost in Details
Title: LOST IN DETAILS
Experimental photographic transfer of information perception.
At today's transmission of video and television information in a video stream, motion vectors are used to conserve bandwidth. A block - an image information - which is identical with the previous image and is located at a different location is not redrawn, but moved from the previous picture.
With missing informations it comes to time shifts, to a temporal distortion and to abstract, beautiful and detailed images - false images.
The picture series "Lost in details" uses exactly this error and transports it into the context of the perception of information. How do we perceive our world today, based on information and misinformation, and how can we make us - in the truest sense of the word - "a picture of the world"? In today's information overload and the mandatory classification of information, it's easy to get lost in details, to take refuge in beauty and disport - and difficult to keep his eyes on the essentials.
The series includes diptychs and triptychs.
