The initial project is the realization of a series of photographs.
The portrait shot is the extension.
It was finally chosen and presented only in the context of the exhibition.
Maria is a girl met at a photographic journey on the Beach Piémanson in the Camargue.
She suffers from Smith-Magenis syndrome.





Statement of intent:

Maria had already offered me her time in the morning.

I asked her to ask this time back to sea
My original intention was to abstract the character. I was looking for this background, the uniformity of the color of the sky or the sea
Standing in front of the goal, I asked her to count, so it relaxes.
She begins. I watch, I wait for the moment of the relaxation of the body.
She stands straight, until I grasp her portrait.
This moment does not come. It operates a failover.
I need the film to capture the character in all its dimensions.
I look for the button. I agree.
Time there is another dimension. I measure the richness and uniqueness of the moment: Maria we forget and forget herself.

The video medium is substituted for the photographic medium.

Be open to the unexpected.
