Yolanda Bürgi interferes in newspaper pictures by turning a person in it into a maggot. She always uses the same symbol: a larva of an insect that usually lives in rotting or decaying organisms.

“My maggots are silent witnesses, who show neither positive, nor negative emotions. They might appear disgusting or likable – or maybe both of it.”
