L' ORECCHIO DI VAN GOGH SULLO SPIEDINO DEL CRITICO DOPO UNA SBORRATA IN FACCIA VENUTA BENE!
Title: VAN GOGH'S EAR ON THE CRITIC'S SKEWER AFTER A WELL DONE FACIAL
This work represents the "false gift" that Van Gogh made of his cut ear - which he excised and wrapped - to his prostitute friend.
Here, the ear is seen skewered together with basil, lemon, zucchini, rosemary, meat and tomato at the moment of presentation to the ambiguous character - perhaps the critic or perhaps the prostitute!? -who has just received a profuse facial from the penis located on the left in the painting. The figure, so indecently defiled, holds a board covered with a yellow cloth - yellow is his favorite color; all the flowers on his coffin were yellow! - where three condoms are placed, taken in three different moments: full, half-filled, and emptied, which are considered to be the prostitute's "tools of the work".
It is evident in this work my intention to be controversial towardsthe art critic but..., in addition: there is a tribute to The Artist who I have always considered to be a sort of "sacrificial lamb". Besides his shocking and revolutionary works, he wanted to donate us his body which is something close to the Cristian vicissitude. The cut of the ear, for many aspects, was an "artist proof" of a body-artist ante litteram. In anticipation of his human body, which he donated to us by shooting himself among his beloved sunflowers on a muggy afternoon in July of 1890.
