Form of Unity_Ride on the Cloud and Travel About_The Loving Mother Land.jpg
In this series, cloud, manifested in simple stroke, is the soul of the entire painting – instead of grandeur, what it accentuates is lightness and ease – a feeling of being carefree. This particular artwork is composed of two paintings. The upper one represents the real world; the one below is its reflection, and therefore its parallel world, a fictive realm. But wherever we are – a real world or a fictive one – only if our mind is set free, without any attachment, our existence is real. It is just like the fable of “Zhuangzi’s dream of butterfly” implicates: Is the dream itself or the world that dreams the dream a real realm? Both are real when our mind is free of any attachment or delusion. Now that being free, the clouds can manifest themselves into various forms, as they are diversely represented in these two paintings.
