Wei’s practice explores the socio-political factors influencing modern day China in the age of globalization. Centering on themes of consumerism and identity, she uses the Chinese trademark panda bears as her subject, careful exams the relationship between the tradition and the modernity, and expands her examples of China to further understand social structure in a cross-cultural global context.
