A painting from the 'Shibusa' series of paintings based on research in Kyoto in April 2011 shortly after the tsunami. This painting depicts waterlilies rising to meet bamboo as a symbol of regeneration and was based on visits to Royal gardens in Kyoto and thoughts on the people of Japan during this devastating time.
