“nice price” - tecnica mista su tela - 100 x 150 x 2 - (2012)
The paint is constituted of two parts. On the upper side there is a plain space, which recalls ironically the comic style. It represents the optimistic rhetoric of mobility and versatility which is needed during the Crisis and it is symbolized by the empty space: we can be what we want to be; we have to find out every day a new way to stay in this world. The feeling of the insufficiency of this message relating to the contemporary social conditions is represented by the trembling and dripping red notice ‘nice price’: our identities are on sales, we are exploited, with a certain humor, the yours. On the bottom side, a dog , frozen while it is embarrassing doing pee, supports the feelings of indignation and cynicism suggested before: there is a kind of individualistic and unorganized rebellion in a undecided moment, in a weary world…
