Mi fa pena il giardino - I feel sorry for the garden
Farrokhzad is important in the literary history of Iran because she embrace a new style of poetry, she is the first modern Iranian woman to write from a woman's perspective, and she transcend her own literary role and experimented with acting, painting, and documentary film-making. Farrokhzad's poetry was banned for more than a decade after the Islamic Revolution.
The choise of poetry was dictated by the desire to work on something coming from Iran reflecting on universal themes such as loneliness and hope.
Loneliness to love something that is dying, something for others no more important although in the past it was a source of joy.
And in the same time the hope that it's possible to change the situation.
Loving instead of hating o becoming indifferent.
Doing something instead of losing heart.
Remembering instead of forgetting.
Saving instead of letting die something that whit difficulty is still alive.
