Stanza#2

Stanza#2

Digital Photography, Interiors, Digital, 70x100cm
"Room#2" represents the memory of a love, of a union, of a broken promise.
It is strong the feeling of loneliness and not belonging.
The half chair on the right of the frame symbolizes what is gone, the empty chair that appears on the left is what remains, but the mirror can’t reflect it, because, incomplete, it no longer makes sense to exist. The lights are off and the objects shown in the mirror are now abandoned, a plant withered and some records that once were the soundtrack of a shared life.

This work is also part of the wider photographic project "By the hand, in the void", an emotionally powerful work that still makes me relive the emotions felt during the shots that I made in July 2010, a journey through the mind of Alzheimer's patients that I lived with great intensity, in a few days, leaving me inspired and guided by the experience of the people who are really suffering, but also by their loved ones who take them by the hand and accompany them, day after day, in their lonely wanderings.
I have chosen to represent with simplicity the stages of this voyage without return, using everyday objects and environments familiar to all of us just to get right to the viewer and give him the opportunity to experience the picture and to immerse themselves in daily life of the patient with Alzheimer's and people who look after.

Grazie ancora a tutti! :)
