The shadow of a face on the wall constantly fixed the clock that has no lancets because it has been deprived of its meaning from the mind that once, before his illness, was body and reason, but now it is only his pale reflection.
The stability of the scene emphasizes the immobile passing of time.
This work is part of a wider photographic project "By the hand, in the void", an emotionally powerful work that still makes me relive the emotions felt during the shots that I made in July 2010, a journey through the mind of Alzheimer's patients that I lived with great intensity, in a few days, leaving me inspired and guided by the experience of the people who are really suffering, but also by their loved ones who take them by the hand and accompany them, day after day, in their lonely wanderings.
I have chosen to tell the disease and to represent with simplicity the stages of this voyage without return, using everyday objects and environments familiar to all of us just to get right to the viewer and give him the opportunity to experience the picture and to immerse themselves in daily life of the patient affected by Alzheimer.
