Her latest series are no longer personal memories and simple postcards or diaries from her travels, as the earlier works of Gauntlett may appear; instead they compare to a mirror turned to face society. Nothing is put in pose, because the artist wishes to document everyday life as it is, the single human instant, captured in a decisive moment: a journey, an aimless wander between youth, maturity, old age and death.
