Our private thoughts and feelings and our interactions with others are continually flooded with an endless outpouring of information from every angle. We are simultaneously touched by earth shattering events which make up our shared experiences and cement our collective memory.
Where were you when the disaster struck? How did you hear of the celebrity’s death? Did you watch history being made in real time, or did you live the experience via radio, internet or television?
My work explores how we reflect upon our shared experiences and how we discuss and re-live them. We replay things over and over, so we can make sense of our lives and strengthen our collective connections.
