Morbid toys

On one hand dissection scandalizes for its brutality, on the other it becomes a way to penetrate
other’s people intimity, that is denudate by surgical practises. Medicine interest could surrogate this
morbid pulsion towards the defenceless naked body.
So here we are in front of a phatology cabinet, showing its collection of specimens ( or supposed to
be), trying to lead on the border trough curiosity, repulsion and the unallowable desire to touch the
other.
It’ Medusa’s fascination, she embodies awfulness and sight inhibition, the contrast between disgust
and the uncontrollable need to look at the monster.
