Caravaggio MMX "Cena in Emmaus"
Various sizes
My Supper at Emmaus is collocated in a den, where a Mafioso group is playing “Monopoly”, investing cash from drugs, prostitute and weapon smuggeling into new properties. Always on the run, their dirty deals are closely guarded by the monitoring camera - the ex-basket of fruit - and “The Nativity” which is rascally peering out under the table. This painting has been stolen by the Sicilian Mafia in Palermo in 1969 and is probably still in the possession of the Bontade Clan. But the die isn’t cast yet.
