The artist’s task is to make the immediate perception of reality a “different” perception, which from the everyday perception may disclose deeper levels of reality. Such an aim can be reached by de-constructing the phenomenal vision, which will show how everyday life hosts more than one reality: beyond this “mosaic” we shall meet a close network of links that can be regarded as its structure, or code.
My project “Tara” is a kind of “manifesto” for the unveiling of reality through photography. It is a work in progress aiming at stirring up a “perceptive awakening”: the perception of things different altogether. The industrial containers are now tesserae which reveal a modular, or multi-level reality, whereas the side sign sequences (letters, numbers, logotypes, symbols) are the “spring code”, the language reality can be read through.
