Il mare di pietra

Il mare di pietra

Painting, Landscape, 60x30cm
This is the key work that established the Marble Movement.

Wondering what nature created, the artist saw in it what the stone hid, with little adjustments he shows the image of the nature.

Here we can find the return to the nature yearned by Louis Magro and desired by people from the time of Aristotle, who said that "the nature is the substance of those things that have a principle of the movement”.

In the Renaissance Leonardo da Vinci drew the Vitruvian man: in the nature there is a secret plot of mysterious influences that the man can penetrate thanks his affinity with the nature because he is a microcosm that reflects in himself a macrocosm.
With this primer and incomplete historical excursus I wanted to explain what made the artist say "the nature gives us everything we need ... even the arts". The nature does not feed only the body but also the spirit .
