Anne K. Clark - was born Feb. 13th 1974, in McAllen, Texas, to Dr. Sharon Waite and Kirk Clark. Her parents and grandparents were enthusiastic art collectors, and their involvement in the contemporary art scene, greatly influenced her. In 1978 Anne began attending art classes at IMAS(International Museum of Arts and Science), as a 4 year old girl, Anne began her artistic journey, having been born into a family of art collectors, artists, and intellectuals her progression as an artist came naturally. As a child she studied drawing, painting and shared a love with her father for Venetian trade beads, Sculpture and jewelry making and with her Mother for nature and Photography. Through high school and college she continued her art studies. She graduated from The University of North Texas, Denton, TX. Class of 99'. Where she acquired a BA specializing in Metal Smithing, Sculpture, Ceramics and a minor in Anthropology. The variety of mediums she has experimented with, are many, everything from glass to aluminum. Science, Spirituality and Nature have been a source of inspiration. Anne’s unique work, ranging from one of kind High Fire Ceramic Masks, Aluminum Sand Castings, Drawings, Mono-type Prints, Paintings and Jewelry, have been featured in galleries and exhibits in Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico and have captivated collectors throughout Mexico and the United States. She believes, art is a way of life. Anne is the proud mother of Ryan Lawson and Emily Lawson and resides in McKinney, Texas. She currently holds the position of owner of Anne Clark Art, where she sells Venetian/African trade beads, her own work and represents other artists as well.
