I specialise in the production of stone, wood, plastic and metal sculptures through interaction with digital media. The skills essential to my working practice are those provided using CAD 3D modelling and animation software. I also have extensive experience in 3d printing, 3d non contact laser and structured light scanning, Plasma cutting, Laser cutting and virtual clay modelling using Haptic technology. In September 2004 I joined a team from Devon, led by Peter Randall-Page where we set to work on creating ‘Seed’ for the education centre at the Eden Project in St Austel, Cornwall. http://peterrandall-page.com/edenproject. The project was completed June 2007. I found it extremely rewarding to be part of the team and after completion I felt that I should bring together my own team of respected innovators, scientists and most importantly makers to work on exciting new challenges. VOLUNTARY WORK In November 2005 I met Paul Abbott, the director of the Bolton TIC. After hearing of his vision for the centre I decided to work as a volunteer, part time for the following six months. I then went on to become, Arts project leader where I have developed a series of art and new technology workshops using the ‘Haptic’ technology coupled with 3d printing and cnc machines at the centre. 2006-2007 After graduating from the UCL in 1997, I continued to develop my own practice with a keen interest in traditional skills coupled with cutting edge technology.
